How skin works with other systems!
Skin protects our muscles, bones, nerves, blood vessels, and everything inside our body. When we move our bones and muscles, our skin moves with them to keep them protected. It is able to do this because our skin is so elastic. It works with the nervous system, because the nerves in our skin allow us to feel certain sensations such as warmth, cold, roughness, softness, etc. The muscles in our skin shrink to make our hairs stand up if we are nervous or frightened. They do this to make us look bigger and more intimidating (much like an animal), and to act as a shield to our body.
